Following the recent protests across the nation, cable news viewership increased 14.5% during the week of May 25 compared to the week before, according to viewership from 15 million Smart TV HHs.

However, weekly average watch time per household decreased 3-3.5% for both cable and local news compared to the week before.
 
Once protests escalated during the week of June 1, cable news and local news viewership increased 7.7% and 6.2% respectively, as compared to the week before. For this week, watch time per household decreased by 10% during this period for cable news, though local news watch time remained constant.
